Abstract:
The association of the intensity of Australian cold high with the tropical west Pacific circulation during Northern midsummer is studied in this paper. A quasi-3 to 4 year oscillation is revealed with the former, which is in correspondanse with Southern Oscillation. The effect of the former's interannual variation on Northern circulations is shown to differ from mid-and-short term outbreaks of cold air. The paper ends up with a summary on the intercoordination between the cold high intensity and air-sea interaction variations.
