Abstract:
The features of mean tropical flow fields and a few major systems are quantitatively and compositely analysed and the results compared for the summertime in three El Nino years and two anti-El Nino years in the past ten years. It is shown that the walker cell and Hadley Cell, the positions of FTCZ at lower levels and TUTT at upper levels, the cross equatorial flow intensity at 40-50°E and 145-155°E, are respectively different from their own averages. Difference is also found within the circulation and individual systems in terms of their averages from year to year and from month to month.
