Abstract:
In a modified
σ-coordinated model (called deflective model) that mixes p-
σ coordinates in both horizontal and vertical directions, deflective low level flows are reconstructed around the Tibetan Plateau using inner rigid boundary conditions for the topographic features. The 24hr predictions for the deflective model and a general modified coordinated model are commpared with the results showing that the deflective model has improved the predictions for upper and middle troposphere around the plateau and its downstream areas.
