Abstract:
A preliminary statistical analysis was done of the temporal and spatial distribution of rainfall every 10 days of the month for areas south of the Qinling Mountain/Huaihe River. The patterns are dominantly positive bias and leptokurtosis. Thers are more stations with non-normal distribution from spring to early summer than in any other seasons. A harmonic analysis indicates that annual variations are dominated by wave one . EOF analyses also show different spatial distribution for the annual amplitude and phase variations.
