Abstract: Based on definition of cold summer and warm summer,the statistical characteristics of the strong tropical cyclones were studied for East China Sea by using 1951-1994 typhoon and temperature data.It is found that the frquencies,tracks,intensities and moving speeds of the tropical cyclone between cold summer and warm summer were obviously different.The difference of their environment backgrounds were also contrasted.
