Abstract: Based on the data of meteorological stations,the wind energy in Guangdong has been calculated,and the distribution of wind energy resources is given in this paper. The result shows better wind conditions in the winter half of the year than the summer half. The abundance in the offshore islands contrasts with the meagreness in the interior. According to the wind energy potential,the whole province is divided into three regions: (1) the offshore islands which has rich wind energy,(2) the coast where wind is utilizable,(3) the interior of mainland and the Five Fingers Mountain in the Hainan Island in which wind exploitation is unlikely. My fundamental research provides objective basis for exploiting and making use of the wind energy resources.
