北极海冰与赤道东太平洋海温的相互影响及其与El Nino的联系
INTERACTION BETWEEN THE ARCTIC SEA ICE AND THE EQUATORLAL EASTERN PACIFIC SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE AND THE RELATION TO EL NLNO

摘要: 对北极海冰面积与赤道东太平洋海温作了交叉相关分析,揭示了北极海冰与赤道东太平洋海温间相互影响的关系及其时空特点,并讨论了El Nino与北极海冰间的联系。结果表明,北极Ⅴ-Ⅵ区冬季海冰面积能够对以后各季的赤道东太平洋海温产生持续的影响,而北极Ⅶ区夏秋季的海冰面积能够影响来年夏秋季的海温;赤道东太平洋海温对海冰的影响表现为前期海温能够影响北极Ⅰ区春季海冰的消融。此外,前期北极海冰状况对El Nino的发生有明显的指示意义。冬季北极Ⅴ-Ⅵ区海冰对赤道东太平洋海温的持续影响可能与极涡异常、东亚冷空气活动有关,而赤道东太平洋海温对Ⅰ区海冰的影响则可能与大气对海温响应的PNA结构有关。Abstract: Based on the cross correlation matrices between the arctic sea ice extent and the sea surface temperature (SST)in the equatorial eastern pacific,the interaction between the sea ice and SST,and its spatial-temporal features are discussed in this paper. The relations between the arctic sea ice and E1 Nino are also analyzed. The results show that the sea ice extent at Arctic subregionsⅤ-Ⅵ in winter can influence the equatorial eastern Pacific SST in the followLng seasons,but the sea ice conditions at subregion Ⅶ in summer and autumn have influence on SST in the next summer and autumn.The influence of the equatorial eastern Pacific SST in previous seasons on the sea ice extent at Arctic subregionⅠin spring is aiso true. The anomalies of Arctic sea ice extent in previous seasons are significant to foresee the occurrence of E1 Nino. The procese in which the influence of arctic sea ice in winter has on the equatorial eastern Pacific SST probably relates to polar vortex, outbreak and southward invasion of polar cold air mass in eastern Asia while that in which the equatorial eastern Pacific SST has influence on the Arctic sea ice in spririg may relate to the PNA pattern in atmospheric circulation.
