Abstract:
By using a linear and stationary atmospheric model (Luo and Jiang,1994,Zebiax and cane,1987) and the initial d4ta coming from zebiak and bine (1987),the innuence of interaction between the shift of the warm pool and that of the equatorial covergence zone (ITCZ and SPCZ) on atmospheric surface stream field and divergence field during 1982/1983 ENSO is analysed with the numerical experiments. The results show that SPCZ is more important than ITCZ during the developing and mature stages of ENSO. The interaction between the warm pool and SPCZ is stronger than that between the warm pool and ITCZ In the two singes,SPCZ is as important as ITCZ during the initial and collapsing phases.
