Abstract:
The influences of heating in three forms on the cold-frontal circulation are discussed using the numerical solutions of a primitive equation model, the results show that the large-scale condensational heating has the most significant effect on the cold-frontal ageostrophic circulation and vertical motion in the frontal zone, and causes them enhance evidently and it is a possible factor in generating rainstorm system of sufficient intensity in warm sector in a short time;the cumulus convection heating also enhances the frontal circulation, however, its effect is not important;the surface sensible heating has effect on the enhancement of the frontal circulation, and it may be a triggering factor in producing multiple mesoscale rainbands in the frontal zone.
