Abstract:
Using the theory of wavelet transformation, the 1908—1997 data of Guangzhou monthly temperature and precipitation are analysed. With at wodimensional wavelet coefficient chart various periodic oscillation and variation trends are clealy displayed and the trend in the future can also be estimated qualitatively. Using the wavelet variance technique, main periods of temperature are found at 99, 45 and 2.2 years. The main precipitation is 28, 7 and 2 years, the early flood period precipitation is 25, 2 years and the typho on flood period precipitation is 23, 9, 2 years. Using the inverse wavelet transformation, the evolution feature of climate variation on diffient time-scales is shown, and its variation trend is also revealed.
