Abstract: This paper presents a descriptive analyses on moisture images, infrared images and conventional meteorological data of a continuous heavy rain event on 20 and 21 July 1998 over Wuhan. It studies the reason of generation and development of continuous heavy rain system, discusses the probability of utilizing the moisture images for information of continuous heavy rain processes and endings which infrared images and conventional data can't find. So information from moisture images are very important for continuous heavy rainstorm.
